No Six Nations rugby this weekend, but there is still rugby news to talk about.

  • Paul O’Connell lined out for Munster’s A team in their victory over Ulster A. Despite rumours about a further injury it appears he is on the way back with officials saying that he did not suffer any setbacks.
  • Munster won that A game, Ulster 5 -Munster 38, and you can see highlights from the match on the Ulster rugby website.
  • Denis Leamy is interviewed in the Irish Independent.
  • Shane Horgan has been named in the Leinster squad to face the Cardiff Blues in the Magners League this Saturday.

  • Munster’s Jim Williams is leaving the province and heading home to work with the Wallabies as assistant coach to new Australian boss, Robbie Deans.
  • Connacht will be facing the Ospreys in the Magners League on Saturday and although they are away from home Coach Michael Bradley is in confident form.
  • On Wednesday last Connacht A defeated Leinster A at the RDS by 22-7.

  1. Is it possible O’Connell could have tipped the balance in Paris, who knows - really now we must rely on Wales beating France I suspect?
