Leicester V Leinster
Leinster travelled to Welford Rd more in hope than with any real chance of progressing through to the next stage of this year’s Heineken Cup. Even a bonus point win wouldn’t have been enough unless Edinburgh also defeated Toulouse.
But given their poor away performances so far this year most Leinster supporters were at least hoping for an improvement there. It was not to be. Their faint hopes were dashed as the Irish province was overpowered by the Leicester Tigers. This despite the English side having two players, Julian White and Andy Goode, sin-binned during the course of the match.
